A free tool to automatically grow your Facebook Page audience

If you run a Facebook Page for your business/brand then you’ll find this little-known hack of great value.

The Reason

The root of a successful post on Facebook is how many people see and engage with it.

The more people who see your post, the more reach it has and the more engagement it may get.

Which gives you the potential to grow and cultivate your audience.

So you want to give your post the maximum chance of being seen right from the start; when you hit “Publish” you want to share it with the biggest possible audience.

The size of this initial audience is limited by how many people have “Liked” your page; the more people who have previously liked your page, the bigger your potential audience.

This is why it is important to get as many people liking your page as possible.

The Problem

Unfortunately, not everyone who interacts with your Page’s posts will actually take the time to hit “like” on your page, which means that, although you might have published a highly-engaged-with post, it didn’t translate to a bigger audience.

It goes something like this;

You post something really cool, it gets shared a bunch of times and your rack up lots of “reactions” – those likes, love and wow symbols – to that particular post.

But your Page itself doesn’t seem to get many new likes; the potential to grow your audience from that successful post is lost.

Then, when you publish your next post, since you’ve not grown your audience much, you’re pretty much starting from the same place again.

Imagine you manage to publish a post that goes viral, and gets thousands upon thousands of likes, yet that doesn’t translate into Page likes; that’d be really frustrating!

We don’t want that!

The Solution

You can use this simple and free hack to salvage any potentially lost audience in just a few steps.

First, you’ll need to be using Google Chrome. Then:

  1. Go to the Chrome Webstore and add the free extension Facebook Invite Tool
  2. Find any of your Page’s posts that has had some likes (the more likes the better!)
  3. Underneath the post should be a list of people who have reacted to it; click that list
  4. In the pop-up window, scroll down until you see a “see more” button – click it – and keep scrolling down/clicking “see more” until you’ve gotten to the end of the list
  5. At the top of that same pop-up window you’ll see a button that says “Invite All” – click it
  6. Repeat with more of your Page’s posts

The Result

Congratulations! In one fell swoop you’ve just sent a notification to all those people who liked your post – but didn’t like your page – inviting them to go ahead and like your page too 🙂

Now, of course not everyone will follow through and like your Page, but with just a couple of seconds work you’ve potentially ramped up the number of likes for your Page, which in turn means a bigger audience for your next post.

If you do this for each and every successful post you have, it can make quite a difference in the long-term.

N.B. Facebook do have limits on the number of invites you can send – but they don’t publish them! Apparently, they may take into account how successful your previous invites have been (i.e. the bigger the percentage of people you invited who then liked your page, the higher your invite limit). Therefore you might want to use this hack pretty soon after you initially publish the post – perhaps the next day – as the longer you leave it the less likely they are to remember who you are, so the lower your opt-in percentage…and thus the lower your invite limit.
